This specimen was lot 40255 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1811-JF 2 Escudos. Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) mint. Ferdinand VII (1808-1833). Restrepo 124.5a. MS-62 (PCGS). The JF/J overassayer variety and the last of the 2 Escudo issues from colonial Bogotá. Bright and lustrous medium yellow gold with very nice eye appeal for the grade. The right obverse field is somewhat bowed, limiting the portrait detail, but other devices are nice and sharp. The top of the J is clearly visible beneath and on top of the F in the assayer. A scarce and historically important issue. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Don Canaparo, December 1981."
