This specimen was lot 40156 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $630. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1771/0-J 2 Escudos. Popayán mint. Carlos III (1759-1788). Restrepo 58.17. AU-50 (PCGS). A historically important year, the final one the bust of Ferdinand VI was used on this denomination. Beautiful and rich yellow gold merges into a deeper orange shade with olive highlights at the peripheries. The overdate and other design elements are crisp, and a good deal of luster survives at the peripheries. A choice specimen of this interesting issue. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins."
NR (KM 36.1, Fr-27) struck 1760-62, PN (KM 36.2, Fr-28) struck 1760-71. a better date per the SCWC.
