This specimen was lot 40124 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA.1760-J 2 Escudos. Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) mint. Ferdinand VI (1746-1759). Restrepo 16.16. EF-40 (PCGS). The very rare posthumous issue, struck during the reign of Carlos III in the name of Ferdinand VI. Rich yellow gold with luster retained in protected peripheral areas. Free of any significant problems, just normal handling. A handsome example of this short-lived and highly elusive variety, the final issue in the name of Ferdinand VI. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Don Canaparo, January 1981"
Nuevo Reino (KM 30.1, Fr-19) struck 1756-60 and Popayan (KM 30.2, Fr-20) struck 1758-60. slight premium in the SCWC. Popayan listed as rare for 1760-F6. Ch. III is Fr-27 (NR), Fr-28 (PN).
