This specimen was lot 40118 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1758-J 2 Escudos. Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) mint. Ferdinand VI (1746-1759). Restrepo 16.10. EF Detail — Cleaned (PCGS). While listed as a non-overdate variety, rather than the Restrepo-described 8/7, this obverse clearly shows a repunched 8 over an earlier 8 in the date. Medium yellow gold with orange toning around devices and a glow of luster at the peripheries. Old hairlines are seen across the obverse, but they do not substantially detract from the positive eye appeal. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Glendining's sale of November 1971, lot 329."
Nuevo Reino (KM 30.1, Fr-19) struck 1756-60 and Popayan (KM 30.2, Fr-20) struck 1758-60.
