This specimen was lot 40108 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1817-FM Escudo. Popayán mint. Ferdinand VII (1808-1833). Restrepo 123.25. EF-45 (PCGS). Rich orange toning and frosty, textured surfaces give this piece extraordinary eye appeal for the grade. Both sides are well centered and very well struck. The reverse shows a short die crack over UTR at left, along with raised die file marks throughout the fields. A fascinating piece with very positive visual appeal. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins."

Nuevo Reino (Fr-65, KM 64.1) struck 1808-20 and Popayán (Fr-66, KM 64.2, KM 64.3) struck 1808-19.
