This specimen was lot 40069 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1800-JF Escudo. Popayán mint. Carlos IV (1788-1808). Restrepo 85.18. AU-58 (PCGS). Abundant reflective luster give this piece the eye appeal of a Mint State coin, with both sides aglow with rich deep yellow color. Sharply struck and problem free, nicer than many pieces a grade or two finer. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Glendining's sale of November 1971, lot 484."
