This specimen was lot 11297 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $1,740. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1817-FM 8 Escudos. Popayán mint. Ferdinand VII (1808-1833). Restrepo M128.29. AU-58 (PCGS). Lustrous and lively, with areas of bright reflectivity. The reverse die shows significant rust, while the obverse is bulged in the left field. Several laminations are seen in the right obverse field. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian and Ecuadorian Coins. From Manfra, Tordella, and Brookes, May 1974."
