This specimen was lot 30734 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $2,160. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand VI gold 4 Escudos 1749 So-J MS61 NGC, Santiago mint, KM 2. Incredibly luminous, with strong central detailing on both sides and bold luster at the legends. Challenging to acquire at the Mint State level, and a solid representative as such."
KM 2, struck 1749-52, 1756-58; 1749-50 are common. 13.53 g, .917 fine gold.
