This specimen was lot 32152 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $5,170. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada, Victoria 25 Cents 1901 MS66 PCGS, London mint, KM 5. Presenting full-bodied luster that leaps from the surfaces, this final year in the series features the impeccably-styled portrait of Queen Victoria. The boldness of this offering comes in two forms--first in its pristine quality and second in its dramatic color. Even under magnification, this coin does not disappoint. The fields are resoundingly clear of handling, with only a few, small ticks noted on the Queen's neck, and the devices are fully-rendered in crisp fashion, sitting high atop the surrounding expanse. Delicately highlighted by a spectrum of iridescent hues, this piece immediately draws you in with both vibrant and subtle shades of marine blue, mauve, and champagne. And, at present time this coin is among only four other examples in this top designation; however, the jewel-like tones of this example exceed any numerical quantification, and further promote the excellence of this specimen. Ex. Landon Collection."
