This specimen was lot 29453 in Heritage sale 3040 (Long Beach, April 2015), where it sold for $3,760. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria Specimen 5 Cents 1872-H SP64 PCGS, Heaton mint, KM 2. A coin that obviously rested in its original box of issue for ages, with surfaces that have deeply toned throughout, leaving the obverse drenched in an mixture of electric blue-green and peach shades and the reverse in rich, earthy tones. Still, reflectivity remains apparent, a sign that the dies were obviously highly polished before striking occurred. One of likely only 8-10 struck for the presentation sets of the year, and even when its rarity is not considered, impressive in its own right."
