This specimen was lot 23769 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $998.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Jose I gold 4000 Reis 1759/8, KM171.2, Russo-314, Gomes-65.07, AU Details - Surface Hairlines NGC. 'Josephus Dominvs' type. A nice even strike with what appears to be an 8 (or possibly a 6?) beneath the 9 in the date. From The RLM Collection, Part II."
