This specimen was lot 313 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €13,000 (about US$17,522 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Friedrich Wilhelm, der Große Kurfürst, 1640-1688. 1/2 Reichstaler 1641, LM, Berlin. 14,46 g. Hüftbild r. in Kurornat, mit der Rechten das Zepter schulternd, die Linke am Schwertgriff//Auf der Spitze stehendes Quadrat mit mehrfeldigem Wappen, außen umher oben die geteilte Jahreszahl : 1 : 6 : / : 4 : 1 :, unten die geteilte Signatur : L : / : M : (Liborius Müller, Münzmeister in Berlin 1640-1642). v. Schr. 226. Von großer Seltenheit, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (electorate of Brandenburg, Frederick William, the Great Elector, 1640-88, half thaler of 1641, Berlin mint. Obverse: half length bust in electoral cap, holding sceptre and sword pommel; reverse: rhomboid arms, date around and mintmaster's initials below. Very rare, especially in this quality, attractive example with fine patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
