This specimen was lot 29718 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $3,760. The catalog description[1] noted, "Brandenburg-Bayreuth. Friedrich Christian gold Ducat 1767 MS64 Prooflike NGC, KM256, Fr-391. An absolutely engaging example of this rare Ducat, beaming with amber-tinged color and fully-reflective fields. Almost immediately, the eye is drawn to the impeccably-styled, illustrative design elements and closer inspection confirms their excellence.
