This specimen was lot 71109 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH WEST AFRICA. Shilling, 1914-H. Heaton Mint. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. KM-12. The finest in the PCGS census, this pleasingly choice example offers a central argent nature surrounded by a transfixing russet and cobalt peripheral tone. Exceptionally attractive."
