This specimen was lot 20047 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $129,250.00. The catalog description[1] noted, "Incredible Bohemia 1629-HG Gold 12 Ducats Ferdinand III (1627-1657) Glatz mint, Armored bust right with curly hair, large ruffed collar, with chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece below / Crowned four-part arms of Hungary and Bohemia with chain of the Order of the Golden fleece around, Fr-188 (Rare), KM38 (Rare), Herinek 4, 46mm, MS62 PCGS. A magnificent example of this double-taler sized gold rarity. The surfaces are free of all but a few minor marks and exhibit noticeable reflectivity. The strike is superb and the full luster enhanced by a light dusting of greenish-gold patina. We can find no record of the 12 Ducats selling, but the identical type, in 10 Ducat size (with a small obverse "X" scratched in the right field), was sold in a German auction this year for more than $70,000, before commission. Exceedingly rare, and destined to be the premier piece in most any collection. From The Richard P. Ariagno Collection."
