This specimen was lot 30378 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $3,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "George VI Proof Penny 1938 PR63 Red NGC, Melbourne mint, KM 36. A fairly rare proof issue, with a reported mintage of just 250 pieces, this dazzlingly choice example features intense red surfaces and a brilliant sheen. Krause lists a value of $26,000 (!) in this finish."
