This specimen was lot 23014 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,965.62. The catalog description[1] noted, "Rio de la Plata. Provincial 8 Reales 1836 RA-P, Rioja mint, KM 20, Janson-37, MS64 PCGS. Silver-gray patina over fully lustrous surfaces. The strike is bold for the issue, with a full, sharp sunface, and the only notable imperfection is a small flan flaw on the forehead of the sunface. A conditionally very rare issue, and none have been certified finer by either PCGS, or NGC."
