from Stack's Bowers October 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71626

This specimen was lot 71626 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $100. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Chihuahua. Copper 5 Centavos, 1915. NGC MS-65 Red Brown. An immensely appealing example of this liberty cap revolutionary issue, the present Gem is surpassed in the NGC census by just five other specimens." This type was struck 1914-15 and is common. Many varieties exist.
