This specimen was lot 6759 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. 500 Forint, 1961-BP. NGC PROOF-62 ULTRA CAMEO. Struck for the 150th anniversary of the birth of composer Franz Liszt. Quite brilliant with mildly toned devices. A few small stray breaks in frosted devices." This denomination was used for several gold commemoratives 1961-68. Franz Liszt also appeared on a 100 forint of 1961 (Fr-612).

Recorded mintage: 2,503 proofs.

Specification: 38.38 g, 0.986 fine gold, 1.209 troy oz AGW, 40 mm diameter.
