This specimen was lot 71380 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Lancashire. Lancaster. Copper 1/2 Penny Token, 1792. NGC MS-62 Brown. Obverse: Bust of John of Gaunt left; Reverse: Coat of Arms; Edge: 'PAYABLE IN LONDON'. Despite the brown designation, this example retains much mint red, and provides near-Choice details. Attractive, and certain to command bids on these merits."
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: copper.
