This specimen was lot 24079 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "British Colonial gold 6400 Reis Brazil 1787-R, cut down and re-edged to circulate in the West Indies, 12.02 grams (full weight is 14.34 grams). The host coin (KM 218.1) is the veiled bust design for Maria I and the date and mintmark are very clear on this piece. Nicely toned XF-AU."

This specimen was lot 24080 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "British Colonial gold 6400 Reis of Brazil (c. 1790), cut down and re-edged by hand to circulate in the West Indies. 11.08 grams (full weight is 14.34 grams). The host coin features a bust of Maria I with jeweled headress dated 1790 or 1798 (KM 226); the final digit is slightly off-flan. Nice XF with bold details."
