This specimen was lot 6328 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $1,035. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "MEXICO. Guadalupe Y Calvo. 8 Reales, 1850-MP. Ex: Ponterio Auction #146, lot # 491 where it hammered for $1,200. Slightly weak strike on eagle's breast, dipped. BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED."  This mint was open 1844-52 and assayer MP is the only one recorded for that mint, which struck all the silver and gold denominations, from the quarter real to the eight escudos. Of the fourteen mints which struck silver pesos, only [[Mexico 1863-Ce ML 8 reales|Catorce]] and [[Mexico 1829-EoMo LF 8 reales|Estado de Mexico]] are scarcer.
