Ireland 1805 penny rev DSLR.jpg

British issues for Ireland in the nineteenth century were erratic and sparse. The only one that can be called common are the half pennies and pennies of 1805 and the farthings of 1806. These were later restruck in silver, gold, gilt copper and bronzed copper. Stylistically, these strongly resemble the "cartwheel" British pennies and tuppences dated 1797, suggesting that these were also produced by Boulton and Watt under contract.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: copper.

Catalog reference: KM 147.1.
