This specimen was lot 3631 in Künker sale 440 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €75 (about US$103 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Wilhelm I., 1816-1864. Ku.-1/4 Kreuzer 1862. Fast Stempelglanz. Erworben im Juni 1991 aus dem Lager der Münzhandlung Sonntag, Stuttgart.'' ([[German States, Wurttemberg|kingdom of Württemberg]], William I, 1816-64, copper quarter kreuzer of 1862, about uncirculated.)"</blockquote> King William began his reign as a liberal, granting Württemberg a constitution and reforming taxes, customs duties and agriculture, but grew reactionary after the revolutions of 1848. One gulden was sixty kreuzer. This type was struck 1861-64.
