This specimen was lot 3602 in Künker sale 440 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €70 (about US$96 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Wilhelm I., 1816-1864. 3 Kreuzer 1825. Kleiner Kopf. Vorzüglich +. Erworben im Juni 1991 aus dem Lager der Münzhandlung Sonntag, Stuttgart.'' ([[German States, Wurttemberg|kingdom of Württemberg]], William I, 1816-64, three kreuzer of 1825, small head. Extremely fine or better.)"</blockquote> King William began his reign as a liberal, granting Wurttemberg a constitution and reforming taxes, customs duties and agriculture, but grew reactionary after the revolutions of 1848. The convention thaler, last struck in 1818, was 120 kreuzer or two gulden. We believe the kronenthaler, which was struck 1818-37, was made equal to 144 kreuzer. This type was struck 1824-25.
