This specimen was lot 23410 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Las Vegas, August 2020), where it sold for $780. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "NETHERLANDS. [[Netherlands, Westfriesland|West Friesland]]. Ducaton, 1788. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. A decently struck example of this collectible type displaying attractive mottled grey tone with plenty of remaining luster in the protected areas. From the BKingdom Collection." Westfriesland struck this denomination throughout the eighteenth century until 1793. This was the largest silver coin and many subtypes exist. This one was struck 1774-93 and is common. An 1788/6 overdate is noted.
