This specimen was lot 72495 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Venezuela|VENEZUELA]]. 2 Bolivares, 1900. Paris Mint. PCGS AU-58. A wonderful example that is SCARCE in such a high grade. Beautifully toned a base gray with cobalt and orange hues. This near Mint State example would be a welcome addition to any Venezuela collection." This type was struck at various mints (a Paris product is shown here) 1879, 1886-89, 1894, 1900-05, 1911-13, 1919, 1922-30, 1935-36. While this is the most available date of the nineteenth century, only the 1935-36 issues are truly common.
