This specimen was lot 3217 in Sincona sale 23 (Zurich, May 2015), where it sold for 1,800 CHF (about US$2,261 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''TUNISIA, Ahmed Bei, 1929-1942 100 Francs 1942. Sehr selten. Nur 33 Exemplare geprägt. Fast FDC.'' (protectorate of Tunisia, Ahmed Bey (1929-42), one hundred francs of 1942, very rare, choice uncirculated.)"</blockquote> This type was issued 1938-55 but all dates are rare. But it does not have the mark of value stamped on it, unlike Fr-14, the SCWC does not include it, but it is mentioned in Friedberg. This issue was struck to the standard of the French hundred francs of 1935-36. It seems unlikely that any made it to Tunisia in the middle of the fighting between the Allies and the Nazis.
