The catalog description&lt;sup&gt;[1]&lt;/sup&gt; noted, &quot;Carl XIV Johan Riksdaler 1819-LB, MS64 NGC, a lovely example with full mint bloom and appealing silvery gray patina. The design features are nicely struck and there are no adjustment marks or other flan flaws - an exceptional coin!&quot; This type was struck 1818-27 and is a fairly expensive type. This is a slightly scarce date for the type. Carl XIV Johan was originally Charles Bernadotte, one of Napoleon's generals. He married into the Swedish royal family and became king himself in 1818.
