This Spanish equivalent of a quarter dollar was struck at the Segovia mint 1716-29 during the latter part of the reign of king Philip V. The SCWC awards it a very low catalog value. The [[Spain|Spanish]] mints, Seville, Madrid and Segovia, were very active in striking this denomination. It is still scarce compared to the enormous output of the Latin American mints. The bust type was introduced to the Spanish mints in 1772.
