The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Wallis/Valais | Sitten, Bistum, Franz Joseph Supersaxo, 1701-1734 Halbbatzen 1722. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC.'' (canton of Valais, bishopric of Sitten, Francis Joseph Supersaxo, 1701-34. half batzen of 1722. Very rare in this condition, About uncirculated.)"</blockquote> This one year type was issued by the bishop of Sitten (Sion in French), now part of the canton of Valais. Valais was not officially a member of the Swiss confederation until 1815. This type was issued 1708-10, 1721-22 and is fairly expensive.<br />
