This specimen was lot 1614 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;[1]&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; noted, &amp;quot;SENEGAL. 2,500 Franc, 1975. PCGS MS-68 Secure Holder. Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Eurafrique Program. RARE. Mintage of only 195 pieces.&amp;quot; Léopold Sédar Senghor (1906-2001) was a Senegalese poet, politician and cultural theorist who served as the first president of Senegal (1960–80). This coin was part of a commemorative program that included silver fifty and [[Senegal 1975 150 francs|150]] francs and gold 250, [[Senegal 1975 500 francs|500]], 1000 and 2500 francs. [[Senegal]], which uses the CFA franc, has never issued coinage for circulation.&lt;br /&gt;
