This specimen was lot 608 in Sincona sale 46 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$420 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ITALY, House of Savoy/Sardinia, Carlo Alberto, 1831-1849. 20 Lire 1846, Turin. Gutes sehr schön.'' (kingdom of Sardinia, Charles Albert, 1831-49, twenty lire of 1846, Turin mint. Good very fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1832-45 at Turin (shown here) and Genoa. Tho not rare, it is much less common than the issues of Victor Emanuel II (1850-60). The Genoa issues are scarcer than the Turin issues even tho the mintages are generally larger.
