This specimen was lot 3502 in Sincona sale 43 (Zurich, October 2017), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$298 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ITALY | House of Savoy / Sardinia, Carlo Alberto, 1831-1849 20 Lire 1844. Turin. Sehr schön.'' (kingdom of Sardinia, Charles Albert, 1831-49, twenty lire of 1844, Turin mint. Very fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1832-45 at Turin (shown here) and Genoa. Tho not rare, it is much less common than the issues of Victor Emanuel II (1850-60). The Genoa issues are scarcer than the Turin issues even tho the mintages are generally larger.
