This specimen was lot 2886 in Künker sale 384 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €240 (about US$310 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Guidobald von Thun und Hohenstein, 1654-1668. 2 Kreuzer (1/2 Batzen) 1661. RR Sehr schön.'' (archbishopric of [[Austria, Salzburg|Salzburg]], Guidobald of Thun and Hohenstein, 1654-68, two kreuzer or half batzen of 1661. Very rare, very fine.)"</blockquote> The Archbishopric of Salzburg was an ecclesiastical state between Bavaria and Austria and usually ruled by a Hapsburg client. This type was struck 1654-67 and has a very low catalog value. In the mid seventeenth century, one thaler was 72 kreuzer, making this coin 1/36 thaler. In the seventeenth century, Salzburg was blessed with a number of productive silver mines and the prince-archbishop was a prolific issuer of coins, particularly thalers. The archbishopric was secularized in 1803 and passed to [[Austria]] in 1813.
