The catalog description[1] noted, <blockquote>"''DIE GEISTLICHKEIT IN DEN HABSBURGISCHEN ERBLANDEN, Matthäus Lang von Wellenburg, 1519-1540. 1/2 Guldiner 1522. RR Feine Patina, vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Leo Hamburger, Frankfurt/Main, Mai 1905, Nr. 559 und der Auktion Sally Rosenberg 64, Frankfurt/Main 1928, Nr. 858.'' (archbishopric of [[Austria, Salzburg|Salzburg]], Matthew Lang of Wellenburg, 1519-40, half guldiner of 1522. Very rare, fine patina, extremely fine.)"</blockquote> The SCWC lists a series of ducats for 1522 but no silver coinage. Wikipedia comments, <blockquote>"In the course of the Protestant Reformation Lang's adherence to the older faith, together with his pride and arrogance, made him very unpopular in his Salzburg diocese. As early as in 1523 he was involved in a serious struggle with his subjects in the City of Salzburg, and in 1525, during the German Peasants' War, he had again to fight hard to hold his own. Insurgents occupied the town of Hallein, devastated the archbishop's Burg Hohenwerfen and even laid siege to his residence at Hohensalzburg, until they were finally defeated with the aid of troops provided by the Swabian League."</blockquote>
