This specimen was lot 516 in Sincona sale 78 (Zurich, October 2022), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$839 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Russia|RUSSIA]] | Russian Empire and Federation | Alexander II. 1855-1881, 5 Kopecks 1858, Ekaterinburg Mint, EM. No ribbons. Rare in this condition. NGC MS62 BN." The Ekaterinburg mint was opened in the eighteenth century to strike copper coinage and did so in large quantities until 1876. This five kopeks, along with a quarter, half, one, two and three kopeks, was struck there 1850-59. Despite the large mintage, it is scarce. A revised type ([[Russia 1859-EM 5 kopeks KM-Y6a|KM Y6a]]), with eight coats of arms on the eagle's wings and a ribbon hanging from the imperial crown, was struck 1859-67.
