This specimen was lot 3129 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €440 (about US$577 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FERDINAND III. 1/3 Reichstaler 1654, mit Titel Ferdinands III. Münzmeister Hieronymus Federer. Von größter Seltenheit. Henkel- und Bearbeitungsspuren, sehr schön.'' ([[German States, Regensburg|city of Regensburg]], one-third thaler of 1654, struck in the name of Ferdinand III. Extremely rare, mount mark and tool marks, very fine.)"</blockquote> This denomination, worth thirty kreuzer or one half gulden, was introduced in 1646 and struck only intermittently thereafter. Most, like this one, are rare. This type was struck 1654-57.
