This specimen was lot 3521 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €220 (about US$306 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1765, D, Aurich. Berliner Typ. Sehr schön. Erworben am 1.5.1980.'' ([[Germany]], [[German States, Prussia|kingdom of Prussia]], Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1765, Aurich mint. Very fine.)"</blockquote> The regular 1/12 thaler (KM 298) was struck 1764-71 at Berlin, Cleve and Breslau and is common. This varies from the regular issue by being heavier yet lower in fineness. This particular version was struck 1765-68 and is scarce. It circulated in East Friesland.
