TThis specimen was part of lot 3773 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), which sold for €300 (about US$418 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 8 Gute Groschen ...b) 8 Gute Groschen 1763 A, Berlin. Prägung während des Siebenjährigen Krieges. Mit leicht verändertem Kopf. Erworben am 22.2.1977. 2 Stück., Kl. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön.'' ([[Germany]], [[German States, Prussia|kingdom of Prussia]], Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, eight gute groschen of 1763, Berlin mint, struck during the Seven Years War, with a slightly modified head. [One of] two pieces, minor planchet flaws, very fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1753-59, 1763. Tall and short busts were struck simultaneously in this period but not normally at the same mint at the same time. The year 1763 marks the first year of peace after the near-disastrous Seven Years' War.
