The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 2 Gröschel 1746, AHE, Breslau. Prägung für die Provinz Schlesien. Mit SIL DVX am Ende der Vorderseitenumschrift. Münzmeister Adam Heinrich von Ehrenberg. R Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Münzzentrum 101, Köln 1999, Nr. 3484.'' ([[Germany]], [[German States, Prussia|kingdom of Prussia]], Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, two groschel of 1746, Breslau mint, struck for the province of Silesia, with "SIL DVX" at the end of the obverse legend. Rare, extremely fine.)"</blockquote> After Frederick the Great seized Silesia in 1742, he issued kreuzer denominated coinage for the province which did not directly convert into the thaler-based coinage used in the rest of the realm.
