This specimen was lot 1852 in Sincona sale 59 (Zurich, October 2019), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,422 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''PORTUGAL | Königreich, João V. 1706-1750. 4000 Reis 1707, Lissabon. Äusserst selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Gutes vorzüglich. Prachtexemplar.'' (kingdom of [[Portugal]], John V, 1706-50, 4000 réis of 1707, Lisbon mint. Extremely rare, especially in this condition, Good extremely fine, Cabinet piece.)"</blockquote> This type was minted in Lisbon 1707-22 and was the largest gold coin prior to the introduction of the [[Portugal 1722 6400 reis|''peça'']] (6400 réis), at which time the ''moidore'' was reduced to 8.06 g. The reduced size ''moidore'' was struck only in [[Brazil 1722-R 4000 reis|Brazil]].
