This specimen was lot 11045 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Copenhagen, June 2026), where it sold for €3,660 (about US$4,219). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[German States, Pomerania|Pomerania]]. Taler, 1657-VB. Stettin Mint. Karl X Gustav. NGC AU Details--Mount Removed. Rare type. Variation reading "POMER" in the legends. Nice reddish toning especially in the obverse legend. From the L.E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). Ex: Leopold Welzl von Wellenheim Collection (Vienna - 1846) Lot #6800." This very rare type was struck 1655 and 1657. On the lapse of the native dynasty in 1637, the duchy was contested between Sweden and Brandenburg until they agreed to partition it by the Peace of Westphalia in 1648. As Sweden gradually weakened, Brandenburg (later Prussia) gradually nibbled away at the Swedish portion until the remainder was seized in 1815.<br />
