[[Poland]] obtained her freedom in the early 1990's with the fall of the Berlin Wall but the new government found the treasury as empty as before. NCLT's ("Non Circulating Legal Tender" coinage) were issued in a bewildering array to help stem the flow. Circulating coinage is seldom seen in American dealer stocks. This type was struck 1994, 1996, 2008-10. Later dates exist. As of August 2023, US$1 = 4.11 zlotych, making this coin worth about US$1.22.
