This specimen was lot 58118 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $360. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Philippines|PHILIPPINES]]. Gold 2 Dollars Token, 1946. PCGS Genuine--Ex Jewelry, AU Details. Unofficial token coinage issued to commemorate National Independence day." This token--presumably privately produced--was issued for the grant of Philippine independence on July 4, 1946. It is an imitation of the Spanish [[Philippines 1868 peso oro|gold peso]] of Isabella II. Note the die clash on the reverse, barely visible under the hairlines.
