This type was struck in Lima for [[Peru]] 1907-08 and 1914-17. Unlike the similar ½ ''dinero'' (five centavos), ''dinero'' (ten centavos) and ''quinto'' (twenty centavos), this coin was minted only sporadically. Fortunately for collectors, many were saved and the type is not rare, even in uncirculated. The 1908 is the only rare date. It was replaced by a [[Peru 1923 1/2 sol|billon half sol (KM 216)]] struck 1922-35 and a brass [[Peru 1955 1/2 sol|half sol (KM 220)]] struck 1935-65.&lt;br /&gt;
