This specimen was lot 1206 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 38 (Winter Park, FL, November 2025), where it sold for $4,500. The catalog description[1] noted, "[[Peru|PERU]], Lima, gold 8 escudos, 1833 MM, NGC AU 58, finest known in NGC census, ex-Almenara. Well-detailed strike with full rims, muted luster (stronger on reverse), light handling marks and hairlines, the only straight-graded example among four in the NGC census. Pedigreed to the Almenara Collection (stated on label)." This type was struck at Cuzco 1826-45 and at Lima 1826-33, 1840 and 1850-55. This is one of the more available dates.
