This specimen was lot 41367 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $2,160. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Peru|PERU]]. 1/4 Real, 1832-LIMA. Lima Mint. NGC MS-64. A SCARCE date overall, this example is tied for finest on the NGC census. Vivid rainbow iridescence glistens throughout over a base of deep gunmetal tone. Ostentatious and exceedingly fresh, this is a tremendous example of the type. From the EMO Collection. Ex: Whittier Collection (Heritage Auction 410, 06/2006, lot # 17455)." This type was struck at Lima 1826-56. The date is listed in the SCWC as common; no regular (non overdate) is listed. All Peruvian minors are scarcer in nice condition than the catalog values would indicate; among the quarter reales, only the 1855 is frequently seen. Many overdates are listed tho none for 1832.
