This coin was minted in Lima, [[Peru]], of a type struck 1812-13. A large bust obverse is also known for 1812; it is rather scarcer. This specimen was lot 195 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 21 (Winter Park, FL, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "Lima, Peru, bust 4 escudos, Ferdinand VII (small, draped bust), 1813JP, encapsulated NGC AU 50. Scarce two-year type with small bust, light toning, choice luster on reverse, no flaws or defects."
