This specimen was lot 1266 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it sold for $7,500. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Peru|PERU]], Lima, gold bust 1 escudo, Ferdinand VI, 1760 JM, second bust, extremely rare, NGC XF 45, finest and only example in NGC census, ex-Almenara. Bold strike with full legends, contrasting toning, the luster too subdued for AU, this posthumous date for Ferdinand VI unlisted in all references except Friedberg (not in de la Puente, Calicó, KM, etc), hence possibly unique. Pedigreed to the Almenara Collection." The KM 56.2 is listed in the SCWC for 1754-59 and is scarce. This one is likely unique as the auctioneers state. The subsequent type ([[Peru 1762-L JM escudo|KM 65]]) of 1761-62 is also rare.
